Austin Area Wildlife Rehabilitation, Inc. is a public, 501(c)(3), nonprofit, all-volunteer organization operated by permitted rehabilitators and other animal lovers. Our areas of focus are wildlife rehabilitation, public education and conservation.

We serve as a resource for anyone who has found a sick, injured or orphaned wild animal, or has a question about nuisance wildlife or wildlife in general. Our licensed rehabilitators provide at-home care for wildlife in need, with the ultimate goal of releasing them back into their native habitats. AAWR receives no city, county, state, or federal funding. We rely solely on your tax-deductible donations to finance our operations.

AAWR provides:

  1. A hotline to handle telephone inquiries regarding wildlife related issues
  2. Coordinated placement of wildlife with appropriately skilled and permitted rehabilitators, who care for animals until they are released back into their native habitat.
  3. Veterinary care when necessary for animals that need further attention.
